Momma’s Orange BS Mash!

I’m off to see my Momma for a few days.  She loves all kinds of yummy fall foods so I thought I’d surprise her with a butternut squash mash.  I’ve listed the original recipe under the video.  However, I would like to add that Momma has a bit of a sweet tooth and discovered that this recipe was pretty wonderful when Maple Syrup was swirled on the top as well.  Leave it to Mom to find a way to improve and further sweeten a recipe. 



2 lbs butternut squash cubed

juice of 2 oranges

4 pitted mejool dates

1 & 1/2” of ginger root

zest of one orange

1 tsp salt

2 TBS tahini

1 & 1/2 cups water

pumpkin seed oil

figs for topping
